i have the 7'2" in the same rod and as much as i like my tict rockndrift mebaru i'm gonna have to say that blue current tz probably my favorite mainly because its a bit more versatile as to what you can do with it. i use two pound sos on mine. the esters are great for sensitivity and keeping light baits deeper but the sos is my main go to.

What kind of rod is the Yamaga Blue current 67nano, Ajiing or Mebaru?? I wouldn't mind picking up either the 6'5 model or the 6'7 model. I'm ADDICTED to this Japanese equipment!!

It's an ajing rod...tubular tip.....and a very good one. It is extremely versatile...designed for jig heads but can handle small plugs....spoons. The TZ rods are the high end line of the Blue Current series. I have bought 3 TZ models. The 6' 5"...6' 10".....8' 3". Not a lot to say other than fantastic rods. I used a 6' 10" TZ back in the spring of 2016 to fish Dale Hollow. I lost count of the number of fish I caught in those 6 weeks using that rod. My best 5 days straight during that time I brought 350 Smallies to the net with the Blue Current....many at the 21 inch mark. A lot of fish you say...yes it was...I was on the spawning flats and when you hit it right for a few weeks it is off the charts good. The Blue Current was the rod of choice and it did a great job strung up with SOS 2# test line. The rod allowed me to 'steer" the fish. It also allowed me to have fun when I would catch the large bluegill Dale Hollow has also. You will not be disappointed. While I do not own any Nano TZ rods it will be close to the older TZ rods...just a stronger blank.

its an aging but in my experience the blue currents dont have quite as rigid a tip as some of the other agiings. they are very versatile. hard to beat in my opinion.

Thank you guys for the replies!! You know, I think I'm looking for a less rigid rod. I have the Triple Cross by Major Craft and it's a fairly rigid rod. I recently bought the Tenryu Rayz Alter and it falls at the opposite end of the spectrum. I hope it holds up to the big redear I love to chase here on Barkley Lake. I will have fun with it regardless.

I wonder how rigid the 6'7 Finetail Banshee rod is?? I've been eyeballing that rod for a while now. I've been glancing at the Shimano Soare, too, is it softer than the Triple Cross??

You need to scope out some of my videos using the Fine Tail Banshee rod. It is an area trout rod...area trout rods are soft....not rigid. I say soft..they are much less rigid than any ajing rod. I do not recommend the 6' 7" Fine Tail Banshee. It should have had one more guide. Now while I don't recommend it I absolutely love mine and fish with it a lot. It is super sensitive and really takes the pressure off the ester line. I don't own any Shimano rods. But have researched the whole line of Shimano light game rods. Chris sells those and I am sure can speak to them. Here is your order of rod rigidity starting with the most rigid and working down.....ajing...mebaru...and area trout rods being the softest of the bunch.

to add to what mr randy said i lot long ago bought a 6'10" shimano soare bb aging rod. it is on the low end of the jdm spectrum and is one of two low end i bought to have as extra when i take someone with me that i dont trust with my high end stuff. I gotta say im pretty impressed with it. it has much more flex in the tip compared to my major craft xride which is broom handle stiff. i would take it myself for brim, crappie, or the kentucy bass i catch wading the creeks. another plus is it has lots of guides. i think i paid around 150-160 for it. i have a 6'7" fintail banshee area trout light action and a trapara 6'6" sul that are super fun to fish with but agreeing with alphahawk both need another guide. watch his videos on youtube he breaks em down to the nuts and bolts. he and led head are the encyclopedia Britannica of jdm equipment. i can't keep the grams to ounces thing in my head had to download a conversion app to see what the different rods are rated for.
