Yeah I saw that. If the Corto 610 was available I would say without a doubt it is by far the best for the money hands down. It may become available before that deal goes away on the 22nd. The Lunakia is a fine rod no doubt. The Finezza Prototype 2017 really is in another dimension in my opinion.....and many others too. I need to fish a lot more with both the Lunakia and Finezza. But.....with the Finezza one gets Torzite guides which is probably the difference in the price. Not to mention the high tech blank......although the Lunakia has a great blank also and a tubular tip vs the solid tip for the Finezza. The Finezza has....as I measure....an 11mm butt compared to what looks like 9mm for the Lunakia. I think everyone who goes down the JDM road and wants to spend the money deserves a high end Graphiteleader rod. But I don’t want to give up my Lunakia either....but that is the collector coming out in me....LOL. One thing fur sure you won’t go wrong no matter your decision. I am pretty sure the Finezza will be better suited for temperate bass. The few times I’ve fished the Finezza I have been blown away by the sensitivity of the rod. All of these rods are sensitive but it fishes.....to borrow a word from Allsorts.....”steely”. In the end if I had to pick between the Lunakia or Finezza.....with the Corto being unavailable......I would get the 17 Finezza Prototype. I haven't fished with either a Finezza or a Corto, so I cannot compare them with the Lunakia. I will add, though, that the Lunakia does have a solid tip model (LK632S-LMLS, which is 6'3" light medium light, 3 lb line max, 3g lure max).

Got a 6’1” corto on the way... I am going to use it as my smaller stream rod for trout and I am going to do summer river wading with it for gills, smallies, and red eyes... I am excited to lay eyes on it... thinking of pairing it with a 1000 series stradic ci4 or the exist that is on its way... ordered some root beer float trout magnets and looking forward to trying them... work just seems to get in the way...

I am going to post this afternoon’s report here for a couple of reasons, first off, a JDM rod was used and Panfish were pursued, but unfortunately the rod was SCHOOLED by a bunch of Bully Bass, the brown and green varieties. I have not been to the water in 15 days and with the full moon upon us I thought the local creek would be teeming with hungry Gills, so after supper it was off to the races with the Majorcraft Triple Cross and some buggy baits in tow. On my walk back to the creek headwaters I had a run in with a Honey Locust tree, trust me, no fun there. Upon arrival to my spot I found a nice crankbait, started the evening off right at least.
From the first cast to the last NO GILLS were stuck, felt, or seen. However, the Bass were stacked in the shallow moving waters like cord wood, literally. Here are several pictures of the offending critters in order that I caught them.
Found a chatterbait also, was rusty so I stuck it in my pocket to properly dispose of it in the garbage at home.
One of the Green Carp was pushing 3lbs with a 4lb head and mouth. After a break off from not retying I got Slimed!!
I caught a glimpse of that old Blue Slimer and was actually glad to donate a jig to him as he looked at least 5lbs. Next up, yep, more Bass.
Even after dark they were still thumping the small baits. Trout Magnets, Spade Grubs, EuroTackle Bugs, all tipped with a Wax worm worked well. All of this was fun for sure, I enjoyed my evening tremendously, but realized real quick I needed a lot more rod for the quarry encountered and caught this evening. I needed the Majorcraft X-Ride tonight to tame those tail walking Big Mouthed (and Small mouthed) Bullies. Just felt like the Triple Cross was going to snap at any minute with the larger Bass on the line. I know these rods can handle the larger fish with the proper drag settings and line choice, but this evening I felt like I needed a little more rod to battle with. Still learning!!

Awesome day! When I am fishing for bass I use the Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ but I have it spooled with SOS 2# test.....which is really 3.5# test. It works out really well. I’ve caught a bunch of Smallies at the 21 inch mark with that setup. The SOS line has a lot of stretch which really helps out in that type of fishing. Believe it or not those bigger large mouth you’re landing is impressive. In my years of UL angling I’ve found that landing a largemouth is tougher than same size Smallie. Those things have a lot of what I like to call “torque”. Believe it or not I started to put some SOS 2lb on my new Luvias this afternoon but decided to not take the time to switch reels on the rods. A more forgiving line would have made it more fun for sure. I broke off one Smallie I saw and the Catfish also broke the line. No stretch line on the Ajing rod fishing from the bank in big long rocky shelf areas of the creek I just felt underpowered.
