Will do next time I catch something..... for right now I was just practicing casting and getting used to the ester line ... got a couples of nice branches lol not worth pictures though lol I’ll post pictures of the rods and reels combos as soon as I get the chance !

The triple cross is currently my all time favorite for dock shooting and the ice cube is my favorite casting rod. Hoping some of you can give me some advice on dock shooting rods. Even though the ice cube is more sensitive it's not a great dock shooting as it's hard to get the low trajectory for a great shooting rod. Feedback appreciated and willing to pay for a rod that makes me say wow. Scott
i shoot docks i lot, i have seven different jdms of different lengths and configurations(tict, lunakia, major craft area trout and aging, and blue current. i would not recommend any of the ones i own for dock shooting. the bending curve on these are just not designed for that. agings are stiff and fast enough but, like alphahawk said, im afraid the tip would eventually break. i dont consider dock shooting a finesse tactic its more power fishing IMHO. by far the best rods i have found for that is a denali 7ft dock rod. grizzly gig has em or you can order straight from denali. there also right around 40 bucks. i do recomend a good reel. im partial to diawa and shimano. i have two that are mated to shimano 1000 stradics and with 6lbs test i can shoot a 1/32 jig about 60ft and put it in a coffee can 8 out of 10 times.

Nice looking rod, that reel seat is awesome. The Trout rods from Japan just have a classy look to them.

Repeat after me... I have a problem... 3 rods are on there way... not sure how any of them will feel but I am excited about them... ordered lots of new line, jig boxes, and jigs...

    N-ONE AJI NSL-S662H-AJI SOLID TIP
DAIWA GEKKABIJIN MX AJING 75HS-S V Light Game
    MAJOR CRAFT SpeedStyle SSS-642UL Spinning

The N-ONE I am thinking will be a drop shot rod... The Daiwa will be a flounder rod??? And the SpeedStyle will be used wading the river in the summer time? Who knows??

That second rod listed could make a good drop shot rod also. I have a new reel on the way, will undoubtedly get another piece of graphite to mount it on. It never ends.

Congrats.....I own a SpeedStyle M/L. One of the first rods I ever purchased was the Daiwa Gekkabijin MX. Gave it away to a good friend....most rigid rod I have owned. The first day I fished it landed a 21 inch Smallie and a 26 inch carp back to back. Super sensitive rod.

    Regards

@Alphahawk : can you comment on the pros and cons of solid tip vs. tubular tip? Would it be fair to say solid is more sensitive? The tubular more durable?

Well on high end rods you will be splitting hairs as to the sensitivity issue of solid vs tubular. But the tubular will be more sensitive. A tubular is more versatile...you can work plastics but it handles hard baits well also. A solid tip can work hard baits but it is not my preferred rod for that. Solid tips really excel in working microplastics.
