I haven't checked the model but I believe the intended application would likely be area fishing UL spoons or cranks on very light line. Might not be brilliant with jigs though due to softer tip and slower action. Difference between a cranking and worming rod. Be interested to read how it rolls...

Does anybody know what the differences are between the Major Craft Triple Cross and the Major Craft N-one ultra light rods? I've got the Triple Cross and love it. I'm looking for a Mebaru rod now.

Is the N-one a softer rod than the Triple Cross? What should I be looking at for a quality mebaru rod? What about the Xride?

Also, who sells the Tict ice Cube cheapest??

Mebaru rods are generally softer in action than an Ajing rod. The N-One is made from a Nano blank.....a very good rod with the Nano blank being stronger. Yes the N-One Mebaru rod will be softer than your Triple Cross Ajing. The X-Ride is a beast of an UL rod with titanium frame guides. Digitaka is almost always going to be your store for the best price.....no one beats them on reels....and few if any beat them on rods. If you want a Tict Ice Cube Digitaka is the place to get it. The Ice Cube Series comes in 3 models. All of them are top shelf. If you can get an X-Ride on sale...as Stan did.....I’d say go for it. If not on sale I’d put 70 more dollars up and buy the Ice Cube. If you decide on the model Ice Cube....and you want it.....and if it is in stock.....you better hit buy as soon as you can. Those rods sell out as fast as they do a production run....they won’t be on the Digitaka site long at all.

    Regards

Randy, is the finesse rod a mebaru rod? Which Ice Cube rod should I purchase for bluegill and shellcracker?

Also, maybe this is a dumb question, but why are they priced between $282-$437?? I see that there's a 6'9 version and a 7'4 version...maybe that's the price difference?? Any help or further information is very much appreciated!

All Ice Cube models are Mebaru rods. I have the Finesse......simply fantastic rod for crappie, bluegill. That 437 dollar price tag belongs to the 6’ 9” Drift model. I own that rod and the whole upper section is solid....not just the tip. The Drift is out of this world good. The Drift is softer than the Finesse and the Finesse is softer than the Power. You won’t go wrong with any Ice Cube Rod.

The X-ride is a beast, I use it to snatch Crappie out of 20+ft water vertical jigging with the braid. I get right over the top of the brush, find them on the electronics and drop a 1\32 oz jig in their face and wait for the thump. The fight is brief but fun and the sensitivity is great for that bite. I have not tried the X ride for Bluegill as I have other weapons. The Drift intrigues me but that price tag is just crazy......is it worth that much more?

Agreed, although I've mostly caught small trout on mine. Caught some nice yellow bass, too.

Thank you fellas for the good intel!! I'm going to possibly purchase the Tict Finesse 6'9 model and pair it with the smallest Luvias spinning reel they make. Would that be a suitable setup for panfishing??

I truthfully don't want to spend $437 on a fishing rod!! I can certainly justify $282 but that extra $150 is tough to justify.

That question comes up on a lot of these rods. Keep in mind my thought process now is after the fact of purchasing around 2 dozen JDM rods. I was nervous as anyone could be on my first few rods. I have become a huge fan of Graphiteleader rods. The Finezza Prototype is simply amazing and it’s cost is similar to the Ice Cube Drift. I don’t want to give either of them up. The Drift is just a unique rod. While the Japanese know nothing about crappie this rod is the ultimate cast and retrieve crappie rod. The feel in the Drift is different than any other rod I own. It excels in what the Japanese refer to as the “off bite”. Imagine how I felt buying the Drift with really no clue as to what over 400 dollars would get me. I was nervous....until I fished it. As I have stated many times we don’t need these rods to catch fish. But no matter who you are....how many fish you catch...they will give everyone who uses them a distinct advantage. The Tict Ice Cube series of rods all excel at bite detection. The Drift is at the top. Once one passes the 300 dollar mark on JDM UL rods it can get to the point of splitting hairs. The number of guides on the Drift is 10....vs 8 for the Finezza. The Drift weighs in at 74 grams vs the Finezza at 68 grams and the butt on the Drift is 8mm vs 11mm on the Finezza. Of course the Finezza is 1 inch longer also. I’m always worried that I am getting rods that end up overlapping, and so far that has not happened...which I find amazing. The Drift is also a ton of fun on bluegill. Now the Tict Rods are not made in Japan.....I have no clue what country they are built in. As to fit and finish the Graphiteleader rods get the nod.....along with TenRyu the build is just impeccable. I’ve gone a long way around to answer your question “Is it worth it”? To me it is.
