Took two guys from Illinois out today. We had several bluegill between 19 and 21 oz., and the biggest shellcracker went 1 lb. 10 oz.

Nice, great looking gills but those big ole shellcrackers are where it's at. If you can put clients on those types of shellcrackers, your business should take off like a shooting rocket. I know you from Bruce's site and you're doing a wonderful job. The gentleman from Texas that came up and went out with you last year did really well. I had no idea you were on top of the shellcracker game like that though, thought you were just a gill man. I may have to look you up in the fall, I'm across the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky, not far from you Walt.
Thanks, Hoosier. The shellcracker in the smaller pond (we had a few others in the 11" range in addition to the 12"+ one pictured on the scale) were a pleasant surprise - I had stocked them three years ago after seeing thousands of pond snails around the edge of the pond, and had not caught one of them before today. The other shellcracker pictured above came from a six-acre pond that has had big shellcracker for years now. We caught at least a dozen 10"+ shellcracker today from the bigger pond.
Thanks for the compliments - they are appreciated. Give me a call anytime and I'll put you on some big 'uns.
PIGS ! CONGRATS .
There's NOTHING like a cracker on the line except maybe a gill......raining here this morning, but your post makes me want to go anyway!!
