Or change a color. You had em interested but not sold.
Tip with beemoth, they can't resist it!
We can only imagine how many hundreds of fish follow our bait underwater while it's out of site...sometimes I try a little more aggressive retrieve when they follow it or switch up lures...like previously mentioned, tipping lures can help, but you'll start getting all those tiny fish too....

put on a cork and get out the live crickets
Try tying a leader to the front hooks of your crankbait, and a tiny jig on the other end. Like "huntinslabs" said ... you had them interested, just not committed for some reason.
You could also try "stopping" the crank, off & on .... &/or speeding up your retrieve speed, off & on. Sometimes they're just curious about your bait .... but, instinct takes over when it appears as though the critter they're checking out decides to try & 'get away' !!

Yup just change it up or change to live bait.
