Mixed feelings on it. Never had success with the red worms and haven't tried the minnows( Too $$$). The maggots did help my grand kids, especially the little ones, catch some bream off the dock at the lake. That put some points on the board for them. Got a question though-if the minnows do work, after they are gone do lures like jig&pigs, plastic worms and such gain any benefit from a soak in that juice? That would be a big incentive to but a tub if it had that added attraction. Any one tried that?

Gulp and Gulp Alive have been fairly productive from time to time. The 1inch minnows and the crappie fry work well for bluegills and/or crappie. Now whether they out produce live bait my expreience says rarely. These 2 baits do have the advantage of being small and slender which is sometimes what the fishes prefer.Like most baits time and circumstances dictate what the fish want. As a side note the 1 inch minnow on a 1/64oz or smaller jighead makes a great bait for flyrodding fished ubnder a strike indicator which doubles as a float. It works great for gills or speks.

I use the 1" gulp minnow on a 1/64th oz jig quite often for crappie and do very well. I also catch many bluegills, sometimes to the point I get irritated at the gills. The 2 1/2 inch minnows also catch large gills. Lures better than live bait is a never ending debate.
