Thread: Crappie nibbles? Opinions please

I fished for shallow bluegills last week with a Flu-Flu type feather jig under a small float. The jig turned out to be nothing more than a Crappie Nibble delivery system; with a Nibble on the bend of the hook, I caught fish after fish; without it, the jig had no appeal to the fish. I could tell when a Nibble had been pecked off the hook, because action stopped. These were hot fish, too; with a Nibble in place, the average wait time for a bite was no more than twenty seconds and often less than ten.

Incidentally, as a followup to a thread on a separate issue from some months ago: the jig had to hang level. If I forgot to slide the knot to the back of the hook eye, toward the hook bend, after bringing in a fish, I wouldn't get bit on the next cast, even with a Crappie Nibble on. Adjust the knot, cast back to the same spot, and boom!
