Caught a few Crappies on shrimp bits today, wouldn't hit as good on beemoth. I did dry the pieces for 2 days and they seem to stay on hook a little longer. But once they where put in the water, the rehydrated back to their softness.

For those people, mainly girls:rolleyes: . Who do not like to bait their own hooks with worm, cricket, etc. Like my daughter, who at the age of 25 I still have to bait her hook . This is a great bait for them to use:D :D .

Croppy1, I just bought a home and piece of land not far from Coffeeville. I was curious as to the size of your pond. I have one that is about an acre and a half, and the previous owner put some crappie in, and now it is full of small crappie. I was going to kill all the fish and start over, but you seem to be having some sucess.

This is very interesting, I was at the grocery store one day a while back looking to buy some canned crab meat to make some crab cakes and this old timer walks up and grabs a can of shrimp off the shelf, said he was going crappie fishing. After he left I picked up 2 cans myself. The canned shrimp are very small (I used one for a salad just see what they looked like) perfect size for a jig. The other can is still in the cupboard, I haven't tried it yet but this sparks my curiosity again.........fishinRod
