I am suprised no one has weighed in a 2+lb crappie yet. Are you guys just being modest? bashful? keeping a low profile? I haven't been on Oologah myself since the before the rains came.

Three weeks ago me and my two boys caught 10 nice crappie a bunch of lil catfish and a few nice bass out of a private pond of my brothers in verdigris. We were getting ready to leave and get the crappie back to oologah where we live when I hung a hawg. Thought it was another bass. Turned out to be the biggest crappie of my life. Went to tacora mart and she tipped the scale at a hair shy of 3 lb. 16 and 5 eighths inches. The kid at tacora mart and I got to talking about the lake record for oologah and he said they still didn't have their paperwok to submit lake records from wildlife department. I still can't get my pics to post on this site but the wildlife department pics posted it for me on their site. Even though it wasn't caught in the lake and wouldn't qualify it was my pesonal best. Don't know what's up with tacora mart and their paperwork but I'm sure someone will pop a 2 lber soon.

Here is link to the Wildlife Department Lake records for Oologah. The catfish says it was caught below Caney Creek. I thought that was downstream from the dam at Oologah. The striped bass hybird was caught before the program started so I don't know what's going on.

Hey coyote thanks a lot. She was a beauty. My oldest boy Dakota is holding her in the pic with little brother Dalton. I only fish that pond when my brother is around. It is at the back of a housing addition and the home owners association really gets up tight about who's fishing in it. I use my blackberry for my pics and this forum but can not get my pics to transfer.

Great contender for a lake record!
This was caught by my wife today on oolagah
16 1/2 inches an 2 lb 10 oz.
Thought she had a catfish or a sandy by the way it was fighting and darting back and forth.

hey Mick that pond looks awful familiar. It seems like i may pay some dues to that homeowners association every year. I had no idea that that pond held any crappie. have caught some bass out of it on occasion and taken my boy down there perch jerkin and had some fun. That kind of fish sure can make for a fun day for everyone.

I'm with Gamblin man! Usually by the time I am done fishing, I am wanting to get home and clean fish, and knock out a few honey do tasks before dark and bedtime. However, when Oologah lake was added to the lake records program I did attempt to establish a lake record hybrid bass. I caught it crappie fishing, and it was around 13 or 14 pounds. I had it officially weighed, took pics etc, and even traded a few emails with the wildlife department. I was told it would be the new official lake record since noone had established one yet. A few days later I see a different lake record posted - no pics or anything, and it was caught years ago? I shouldn't even have wasted my time trying to go through the formalities. That hybrid took up time I should have been using to crappie fish!!!
