Default looking for info on Gaines Creek

I'm looking for any and all information anyone wants to share on the Hickory Point area of Gaines Creek. I'm about to start fishing this area so any info would be useful. Patterns, areas to check out, boating hazards to watch out for, at what water level does the area become too shallow to use, or anything else you think might be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, not my neck of the woods.
I do know, be very careful of underwater obstacles!

I'm no expert but fish gaines at least a handful of times or more a year. Love this place just wish it was closer.

When launching at Hickory Point be careful of shallow area I have circled. Stay towards the lines I have marked to go up the creek or down the creek. Also stay in the main channel when navigating and take it slow as a lot of underwater structure. If there has been rain and a current, fish somewhere else or find a place to get out of the current.

Thanks Redge and Nip, That's the kind of info I'm looking for. I've only been out there in a boat once a few years back. It was an old aluminum V bottom with a 2.5hp, trolling motor, and no depth finder and as shallow as that boat ran I still remember kickin up A LOT of mud. I only went a little ways down stream past the 1st turn so although it was an enjoyable day on the water I didn't learn much about the area.

It's one of my favorite places to fish. Just don't get in a hurry and trust your depth finder.
