Default Lake Eufaula-old dog wanting to learn new tricks-Help please

    So lets try Lake Eufaula.

I am an old retired guy who now wants to learn to fish. I have fished, hook and worm. But not much, and in the past few years with guides who furnish all, especially knolwdege.

    I have no gear.

Daughter has a cabin adjacent to the Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State park.

So what do I fish for in Eufaula lake? Crappie, Bass, Catfish? What gear do I need?

Is bank fishing any good around Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State park?

Where in the Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State park to fish, for what and when.

Any suggestions of what to fish for and where in Arrowhead Area at Lake Eufaula State park in January.

I would highly recommend hiring Eufaula Boys Guide service.
He is a great guy, and was raised down there.
I think the wealth of information EB has, would be well worth the price of a trip.

If you need his number send me a pm.

X2 on the Eufaula Boy recommendation. If you are stuck on the bank you can also fish for crappie or catfish. Look up the float & fly method and just adapt that to most lightweight crappie jigs and plastics for crappie. For catfish go to bait and a little heavier tackle. There is a single boat ramp a couple miles on around from the Turkey Flat campground. A lot of people fish there for crappie using the above f&f method or just casting weedless crappie jigs year round. There is a lot of brushpiles and rocks there. In the spawn you can do lots of good in numerous places from the bank. If we have a Spring or Summer crappie camp at Eufaula come join us. Just watch the okie forum for info.

This is encouraging. Thanks. I can start planning for next year. This year has been a flop.

I’m 90% sure I think Odie fished with him recently.
