Fishing fairly slow, but there are a few really nice fish being caught. Orange hair jig has worked pretty well.

Kenny and I tried Salt Creek at Keystone for three hours, getting a total of four dinks and a largemouth. Moved to CB and tore 'em up, getting 84 crappie, mostly on ice spoons and some on hair jigs and plastic. The only problem was that only four fish made 10 inches and none made 10.5 inches. But, as usual, it was a good day to get out and share time with a friend.

Some people are gluttons for punishment. After catching two big blue cats yesterday afternoon at Ft. Cobb and then striking out on the crappie at the marina (didn't even see anyone catch a keeper), we decided to hit CB again today. Dinks were there by the thousands. Everyone was fishing deep, but I kept having dinks hit the frayed dacron line that I was using for depth measurement. The dacron knot was sinking about two feet under the surface at the far end of the dock, and as I raised the ice spoon, the frayed line was getting bit. I pulled the spoon up to about two feet down and got bit constantly as soon as I raised the spoon. Other guys started fishing near the surface, and between deeper fish and surface fish, there were about 600 dinks caught (literally). As we were about to leave, a suicidal almost-twelve-incher hit my spoon. In the next ten minutes, Kenny and I got six keepers.
ps The speculation was that saugeyes may have been down deep, and that's why so many dinks were at the surface.

    Where’s the pics BigSky?
Glad you all got out, and gave the fish what for.
