There is big carp there. The pond just east of it across from golf course has fish. Dunno how much but its really nice looking. It has evidence of questionable activities tho so go at your own discretion
Has anyone fished Lake Yahola in Tulsa? I read it's a water supply reservoir so all concrete I believe. So no natural structure or cover. Heard of people catching fish there and want some first hand accounts.

I was raised just a couple miles from there, back in the day (70"s) I spent most of my youth around that lake and in Mohawk Park; I would see some really nice catfish not sure what kind but in the range from 5 to 20 pounds brought out of their frequently. Don't have a clue how fishing is now, there was at least 1 major fish kill back around 1976 from oxygen depletion when the lake turned over, I remember tons of fish floating out there. I personally would not fish Yahola or the pounds in Mohawk Park alone, and they do close off the roads now at dusk.
Im not too worried about my safety from other people. Not that I'm ignorant to threats or the type of people that may be around, but I'm a 220lb army combat vet and can handle myself.
Snakes in the other hand, NOPE! If an area is overly snakey I'm out!!
I just want to find a body of water with multiple species, crappie included, where I can catch some fish. Not just stocked ponds with bass and channel cat.

Crappie Reaper LIKED above post
Go fish below keystone. Go by walmart and get a pack of arkie shad bodies. Black. Red belly and chartreuse tail. And a pack of all chartreuse go go minnow from bass pro. 1/16 oz heads and toss it no more than 15’ from you down stream and slowly bring it back against the current. West side and walk down to where the current starts to mellow out and fish the swirling and calm water. Move up and down depending on the bait fish. You can usually see sandbass darting from below with polarized glasses. Fish there. Keep it under the bait fish so its in their face and have fun. They eat pretty good too and plenty. I use 5’6” med light rod 4lb line and with drag right your got anything in there. These my son got on a ultra ultra light 4’6” rod and 4lb line.
BIRD-N-BUCK thanked you for this post
So those are basically swimbaits?
I fished there a few weeks ago for the first time and caught a channel cat. I was on the white water ORV park side. I want to try the other side next time.
When I was there it was a weird morning. It was windy and rainy and nobody was catching anything except me with the cat and an Asian guy caught a drum on a crappie jig haha.Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I haven't fished Yahola since I was 11 yrs old (1968). It was great for sandbass. It had a boat ramp back then open to the public as well. A better spot for you would be the cement pond off County Line road and 21st.
