Southeastern Oklahoma, kind of a tourist area but very family friend. Lots to do for kids there and they have the Lower Mountain Fork River that’s stocked year round and has good trout fishing.

BA, if you decide to fish this place, I strongly suggest hiring a guide for a couple of reasons:

    1) You will learn a ton.

    2) Fishing moving water for trout is a significant step up from chasing pond bluegills. Moving water adds a lot of variables that most beginners are not ready for. A good guide will help you to overcome these variables.

Yeah I wont act like I know anything about moving water trout fishing so a guide would be best. More than I can afford right now being out of work. But someday I would love to have a guided trip and learn to trout fish.

Man a guide would be best because they can put you on them but get you some small rooster tails, crappie nibbles and a some small weights and go down to the power house spill way in the state park and fish at the spill way when their not dumping water. The trout are in there. Just gotta figure out what they’re biting. Name: E1DCC974-C155-4725-88A8-7AE4D0BDB09F.jpg

Also good to know! I want to catch trout, but I want to catch them on the fly rod and spinning gear. Fly rod I'll need a guide. Spinning stuff just point me at them!
