    Default Garmin Echomap series transducers

For those that are thinking about buying a Garmin Echomap unit there is 2 different transducers. There is several on the market with a cv series transducer and the latest one with a gt series transducer. I found out from Garmin the cv series runs 2 separate elements from the unit and the newer gt series uses a single element from the transducer itself and produces a clearer image on downscan and sidescan. You can purchase a gt transducer separate if you already have the echomap series that has a 12 pin connection on the 93sv and the 8 pin connection on the 73sv. The GT series transducers run 300.00 for the 93sv and 189.00 for the 73sv. There are some touchscreen plus units out there that are selling for the same price with the older CV transducer so make sure to check the transducer model before you make a purchase. The GT transducer is the best they have out right now.
