Default Crappie fishing saved my life

How is everyone this morning I would like to share something with you. Three years ago on October 23 me and my wife at the time woke up to something that changed are lives forever. Our 3 month old baby girl passed away over night. It took me down to a place where I did not care about anything including my wife or my other two children. I was in so much pain. 6 months later my wife and I split up. Now there was no reason for me to live so I thought. Over the next couple years I fell in to a darker hole doing drugs everyday to the point I od several times. But God had other plans for me. It got so bad at the time. Then my 3 year old at the time, she is 5 now and my pride and joy did not want anything to to with me.I did not want to look at her hold her anything. It broke me so I thought. The next day I went and checked my self in to rehab was there for 3 months. I got out and fell right back in to the things I was doing before. Over my daughter's spring break last March my mom had my girls. She called me and asked me to go with her to the dock and and take them fishing. I said ok. I have not been crappie fishing in over ten years. That day it hit. I found the thing that turned my life around. So instead of turning to drugs when I get down and I get upset I turn to crappie fishing. God ,my daughters and crappie fishing is all I need to be happy. I found myself that day. Just thought I would share my story with you all.

I can't imagine the pain of losing a child, so I can't relate to what you've been through on any level, but I'm glad you made it to the other side of it.

First time a post here made me cry. The opiate epidemic is a plague that is hard to fully fathom and it is largely brought on by the loss of community and hope. While communities such as this are no substitute for real life the best wishes are I'm sure genuine.

    good luck
