Default Oklahoma CDC is the reason i got into crappie fishing.

Just wanted to let people know what a great thing and the amount of information is on this forum and it bothers me too see it go away. I havent been around much alot of personal stuff and work. I only fish for crappie bc of the knowledge you guys gave me. People like odie reaper eufaulaboy ranger the list could go on and on.... seeing all those fish being caught and the information on patterns and techniques. I love catching crappie just wanted to let all you know that it is disappointing to see the state of the oklahoma page. As dead as it is. Appreciate all the info over the years and in the archives.

I've been on here for many years and it sorta goes in cycles. Many of the guides came on a few years ago or came on then became guides. They promoted the tournaments. Many put on very good frequent posts which provided lots of info. I think many of them have abandoned CDC for Facebook. With them went lots of info. Some of us don't use Facebook so I'm not sure how active they are. Another reason it went quiet is there were too may non-partisipating lurkers who overran the spots posted as good. Don't give up on Okla CDC. It will probably come back.

Floyd, you hit the nail right on the head. It gets old giving out information and places with little to no reciprocation. I love to share and help, but if it ruins the fishing it becomes pointless. But for old times sake----Name: 20180901_074809.jpg

I believe few people have ever truly seen a 2 lb crappie. Thatís a great outing.

I can only imagine the frustration of trying to help people only to find that you are giving away your spots. Hopefully it will come back but I wonít hold my breath.

That goes for posting on FaceBook also. A couple weeks ago I was at the ramp getting my boat ready to launch. A guy I knew but not well walks up and says "I brought my buddy with sidescan, we are going to see how many of your piles we can find." I did not even know how to respond. I know they are public and people will find/fish them, but why say anything at all!

I check this forum daily and thoroughly enjoy the info gained. I use it to gain knowledge of techniques to catch crappie on a variety of lakes and conditions while being respectful of others. I have gone out with different guides on different lakes that I only got to know through this forum. Thanks for making available.

After watching the congressional hearings with facebook Mark Z. I banned facebook. I frequently post pics and results on CDC, the info I give is the lake, water temp, jig type, depth caught. I'm in Kansas and CDC postings get scarce at times. If nice weather and I catch a few keepers I'm happy. You Okies are in fish heaven!

I joined facebook several years ago to communicate with a friend in the hospital. I didn't like it and cancelled after a couple days.
