I hit the dock at Hudson Lake Marina this morning. It was a tough bite but was able to end strong with these as my last 3 fish. Caught them at 12ft inside the dock on my hand tied jigs. Almost all keepers caught were on marribu jigs. Biggest was 13.5 in and the other 2 were 11.75 in. Caught 9 total.Name: 1523218889242.jpg

I’m planning on it the weekend of the 21st. The wife and I fished it a few weeks ago. No bites. The water temperature still in the low 50s.

My brother and I spent all day and into the evening Saturday 4/28/2018 at Hudson Lake Marina. The crappie are still not on the spawn yet but given the current conditions it should be any day now. Crappie were slow and not schooled as far as we could tell. I ended up with 4 around the 11.5 - 12.5 range and 1 2.5 lb channel cat. I missed to 13+ right at the surface as they threw the hook. Either I had a dull jig hook or I just didn't set the hook well. I caught probably another 8 - 10 in the 9" range. Ended up giving the fish away as not enough to feed how many I needed to and was honestly just too tired to mess with it. The cat bit on a 1/32 crappie jig tipped with a crappie nibble. That was fun as the rod is a 4'6" Loomis super ultra light with 2 lb Tourney mono. I fought him in (so fun!) and my brother grabbed him in the water. I should nickname my brother "net"

Plan on going back in the next week. Great place, great people and the slabs should be spawning real soon. Most were males, only 1 female with eggs.

Caught a few good ones from the bank last night fishing 3 ft deep on minnows. Lost 4 or 5 good ones as well. Only fished from 7 to 8:15. Smallest was 11 in and the biggest was 15.5 in. I'll add pics later they are too large to upload it says .

I caught a bunch of < 9" males on Saturday 5/5/18. 1 nice 15.5" slab though. Gave it away. The rain really murked up the water and the temp dropped a bit over a degree. Lots of debris floating. I'm guessing, given good weather, spawn is about 2 weeks away. I did see a lot of male bass on the shore scouting beds.
