Got back from Montana, so hit CB with a grandson. Fished about 6 hours. Got 12 that ranged from 7"-8 1/2". Grandson got 5 of the same size. Only saw two good fish (12") from the 15 or so people fishing. One guy had five about 10". Asian guys kept quite a few of the 7"-8.5" fish. Really nice day, so quite a few family showed up for a picnic lunch. Good to see the kids and grandkids.

Swollencrappie was nice enough to take me out in his boat yesterday. It was a very nice day, a good day to get together with a friend. We mostly caught smaller fish until it was time to pick up his daughter from school. That was when the bigger fish started hitting (as usual). We got ten smaller keepers before we had to bail.Name: 20181101_152944 (2).jpeg

We have been smacking the cats, but the cold weather should really pick up the crappie bite.

I put in a full day on CB Friday mainly looking for schooled up crappie in deeper water. I found nothing at the damn north to the first 2 coves. The only sign of a crappie was around the concrete tower. The water was very stained and no sign of hybrids either. This was only my 2nd trip to CB. What is everyone else seeing? Other lakes in the area the crappie have already made it to deeper water and are stuck to brush piles and other deep structure. What’s up with CB?

TTFT, sorry you had bad luck Friday. Keep after them. The crappie are there. I fished it Tuesday, Wed and Thursday and caught several but kept 10, 15 and 13. All my fish came from depths of 18-25'. Tuesday they were on structure and wanted 1/16 ounce heads. Wednesday they were in 25' in the schools of shad which were thick all along the dam and used two 1/8 ounce jigs. Thursday i found most in 24' right off the bottom but picked up a few in 18-19' on structure with 1/8 ounce heads. I scanned a few piles in 14' or less on thursday and some piles were holding some fish. Not a big school but definitly holding some fish. Just keep after it and you will get that lake figured out. You ever see a 24' SeaArk with T-top swing by and say hi.
