Lonnie, I do mine that way often as well. Otherwise, since crappie feed from below, all they're seeing is the belly color, which is often the same as every other shad/minnow in the water. I turn it upside down sometimes so it will look different and they're seeing the "color".

Good point, Lonnie. Who says that doing it the "right" way is always the right way?

Bite was next to nothing today, they've been pulling water out in front of the impending storms it's drop about 1/2 since midnight and 1 foot since the day before. These were 3 males with 1 female they were a little higher today around 4 to 5 fow and caught all but 1 on BG Bluegrass and Eclipse. As of last check the turbines and gates were closed so with the water getting ready to go the other way hoping tomorrow will be better.

Paired up the Beaver Bottoms baits with ProBuilt Jigs today, first time for me using the jigs and I must admit when they first came out I was thinking "just another jig" never doubted that it wasn't a good product but figured it would be about like all the rest. So this morning when I was picking up some new baits out of convenience I grabbed a bag of jigs that were hanging close by that would do the trick, but I noticed the eyes were all painted and plugged, not really that big a deal but an extra hassle none the less. Then I seen the ProBuilt display, nice looking package, good looking jigs with clean hook eyes and with 8 jigs per packaged they were less money than the other brand that came with only 5. Now all of that means nothing unless they they can fish and I must say after fishing the ProBuilt Jigs I was impressed, first of all the 1/8th just felt good on the end of my line and it seemed I could feel or visualize the jig better than other similar jigs that I have used, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but it may be more balanced than the other jigs. In addition to that with more than 2 hours of fishing the same bait I never had to preposition or push the bait back into place, once it was on there it was there. So to sum it all up it was kinda by accident that I bought my first pack of ProBuilt Jigs but the next time it will be on purpose!

Hey Lonnie84 I bought some down at the boat show at Grove this winter in 1/4 oz. Talked to the people that make them and they seemed like really nice people. They definitely hold a bait good.
