We hit the Spencer Creek banks yesterday evening since there was to much wind for the boat. We caught 25 in about 2' of water. We caught them all on minnows after trying jigs. 17 males all caught before dark 8 females with eggs caught after dark.

Just a quick edit. Once we got home and cleaned the fish only 3 were females. The other 5 were just very full males.

Cleaned 33. Big fish went 15 inches. All over 10. Minnows from the bank. 14 inches deep. 5 foot from the bank. Spilling eggs but mostly males.

27 females and 2 males. Big fish 2lbs 2ozs. 8ft deep in 15ft of water above the brush. Put in at Redbud. All the females were still full of eggs.

This weekend was interesting as far as the fishing went. Fri the 4th I got out late in the evening with the new to me boat. Caught 6 10"range all males shallow. Sat. the 5th got 33 morning to mid afternoon, biggest 13.5" The bite was good until around 11 then slowed but picked back up around 1pm. Then Sunday no real weather change that I was aware of yet the bite seemed tough for most. We struggled for 13 in the 10-4 time range. The size was down to 8-10" more common. Fished with BG or lakefork jigs. So i'm curious as to what might have changed from sat to sun. Still trying to learn the ways of the crappie. Anyone else able to report on this or have some input?

I destroyed them Saturday with an 83 yr old man and 2 limits. Morning bite with bigger fish extremely soft. Seems that only small males were on the banks while females were hanging deeper still chalked full of eggs. Had short trip last Tuesday with similar results. Lot's of 12-14" girls.
Past spawns have taught me that most females on the banks in the early mornings seem to head to deeper water after about 9:00 a.m. (Oologah)
