Based on the comments, sounds like splitting more firewood this weekend will be better than fishing down at the dock. I'm glad the Corps keeps opening the gates at the dam to drop the lake level (can't go through the troubles we did back in 2015 with the high water and the havoc that caused with our dock), but it isn't doing much to help out with keeping the crappie in any particular area. Looks like this may be another bad year for spawn on the banks.
And who knows, with this crazy Oklahoma weather, I may be needing more firewood up into May or June -- you just never know.

Wanting to come down, does anyone have a report on crappie? I'm on the northend of the lake in sycamore bay, but I live in the city. Will most definitely drive if they are running? Thanks

I'm hoping since they closed all of the gates at the dam yesterday, that should help stabilize the crappie by this weekend and possibly they'll be back up on the banks and around our dock. Since the gates were still open a little last weekend, I knew they would not be up around our dock, so I never even wet a hook.

I fished the north end Tuesday and they were in 6”-2 ft of water. Man I love doodlesocking! All males, kept 25 big black males and probably released that many in about 4 hours. It’s on guys! Wading btw

Hey guys! Had a great day on eufaula. Fished around oak ridge and arrowhead. Me and my father in law cleaned 58. Fish were very shallow and as the day progressed you had to keep you bobber still.

Friend and myself cleaned 59. Threw back a ton of smalls on south end of lake.

Waded Gentry Creek with a dipping rod. Nada. except for seeing a flock of turkeys. Moved to Crowder, and got 83 dinks, 12 good ones to 13 1/2", and two bass on a black/pink jig. Put the big ones on ice and reloaded on the Gatorade (are we in summer already?) Moved to Rock Creek for the late bite, fishing with minnows. Got 8 dinks and four keepers to 14 1/4 inches, and six bass. Lost four really big fish. Someone had cleaned their crappie at the 2nd boat ramp. When I put my minnow over the ramp, a big old catfish (probably feeding on the crappie remains) sucked it up and headed out to sea. It took about 40 yards of line before the hook straightened.

Hello all, first post here!
I'm heading to the Spinnaker Point (Highway 9 marina) area Friday, hoping to fish all weekend. Our family has a dock there and typically we fish in an open slip, but we may get the boat out. How's the fishing been? Anyone fishing around Highway 9 Marina at all? What jigs you all using, any luck with minnows?
I would appreciate any info, always fun for the kids too. I have a 10 year old boy who is finally able to sit long enough to fish, lol.
