    Default Dahlgren Lake (Lexington WMA)

Hello all, just wondering if anyone has been out to Dahlgren since the renovations. Are they done, and if so, are the gills in there, crappie? The ODWP webpage says renovations were to be done 2016. I imagine it gets pretty beat up being so close to OKC but maybe with the construction that started a few years ago it hasn't picked back up yet. I've heard it was managed as a trophy sunfish lake, if anyone has a report, I'd love to hear it, I may go out there Friday if there's no lightning, if I do, I will report back.

I called the biologist at Lex and they said its going to be a multi year project. He said even once they finish the work, it will take time for the lake to naturally refill. They dont intend to flood it. It is still bone dry as of a month ago.

If OKC is getting the same as Tulsa it won't be bone dry much longer!

Probably not worth the drive if it was "bone dry" so recently. I suppose once the water is in it, I'll have to watch the stocking report. Maybe it'll be worth a trip in 5 years.

Any updates? I used to fish out there a lot when I had my kayak. The bass and crappie were a little stunted but had good numbers. I did catch my PB crappie there though - 17" but post spawn skinny. I have a video of two 48" + blue cats I found on an unmarked, abandoned jugline there. One was dead and the other was near death.

I can't believe they drained it and killed every fish in it. Hopefully some big ones will wash in from the creeks that feed it.

I went out there a week or so ago.. Got a ton of small bluegills and tiny bluegills. One lady caught a couple of good-sized bass (6#-8#)
