    Default Spotlight Scan????

After the Wister tourney I had an opportunity to jump in the boat with Redge and watch him and the 360 in action, Let me tell you I was very impressed with the 360, (not to mention Redge LOL) and after all my years of bashing Hummingbird, have to admit that I don't think theirs a nickel's difference in their technology, That said, I am wondering if anyone on the board has tried the Lowrance verion of this "Spotlight Scan" If so could you post a review or maybe some pics from one. Any help appreciated, Im in the process of redoing my electronics up front and hoping to finally get my units linked, So I will be staying with Lowrance

PS LORD PLEASE STOP THE RAIN IN KANSAS!!!!!!!

Only down side to the spotlight scan is you have to manually scan it. 360 is automatic and when trolling this is a big help. I have had the 360 on my rig for just a couple of weeks but really like it so far, think it will be an awesome tool.

It doesnt seem like there are very many positive reviews out there on the Spotlight Scan. If you are looking at buying a new HDS for the front, Lowrance has a offer going now that the Spotlight scan duecer comes free with it. Free SpotlightScan Transducer - LOWRANCE | Marine Electronics

I'm looking at gen 2 9 from Russell Marine. Cory and I were talking about the gen 3 last night and he mentioned he thought it has built in point one. Something I wasn't aware of and think would be great for the whirly bird directional icon I currently have dancing around on my elite 7. Just not ready to shell out a few g's

I installed a Point One when I had my HDS 9 GEN2 in the dash. I moved the Gen 2 to the bow and put a new HDS 9 Gen 3 in the dash. The Gen 3 locks on to all 15 gps satellites by it self. The gen 2 locked only 7 satellites before the point 1 was installed. Both are hooked up to my Xi5 PinPoint GPS so I can anchor from them or the remote controller. When in anchor mode the boat stays plus/mius 1 ft from where it was anchored even in a good wind The Gen 3 with chirp is superior to the Gen 2.

I believe you fellas. Not sure I can swing the new one now though. My main objective is to get my units linked and still have downscan at the front. I plan to mount the point one just over the td. And use it only for the console mounted gen 2 12. And use the internal gps on the front that what when I mark a pile I don't have the possibility of being of the 10 ft in any direction from the td to the console. And of course piles marked from the front will be directly under tm td. Going to tether the two units with eithernet cord. But thinking I don't need to run NMEA all the way to front since I don't plan on using point one for its antenna?
