With Crappiefool41's help I took 2 grandsons to Lake No Name last week but it was a day doomed from the git go. When we got to the only bait store around they were closed for no good reason so we started the day with a 1.5 hour detour to find minnows at a shop that was sold out! The nice lady there let me chase the few stragglers left in the tank so after about 15 minutes with a minner net we had enuf Arkansas Jigs for the boys to fish with. Our first spot was too windy to fish so we headed up lake to a more sheltered spot, only to have my big motor crater just as we headed into a 20mph breeze. Couldn't fix it so we fished J Fabio Jones style with just a TM for the rest of the short day- and I gotta applaud that boys patience. If I didn't have 2 sons and 2 grandsons on board I would have been home in time for breakfast. Slow going with the wind and creeping slow against it. The fish were hiding out. Tho we did catch a few 1.25 lb BC and some trash species. Instead of riding the new tube I got for the occasion, the boys went swimming in the lake and didn't seem to notice that it was a hard day. Soon as I got home I put the Lund in the shop and 36 hours later had a new fuel pump etc installed and ready to get back out. It has run fine since but I may have a hard time convincing my youngest son to take a day off work to fish. Younger grandson was sure happy to see Miss Beazley when we got home and the older helped me pick these mushrooms, which were mighty good sautéed in butter with garlic cloves! Guess the day turned out ok.

Haha...the Minn Kota can scoot me around at a whopping 3.87 mph. Does the trick. Starfish, Landry, and I went out and had a good time but the fishing was slow slow. Only got 1 cooler full.Name: Attachment-1.jpg

Slow day for Fabio and company = "only one cooler full". Don't make us hate you JJ. Ha ha! I actually know what you mean for once- that's a two cooler lake most days. You reckon we caught em all? And by we I mean you.

I see the young one has on his life jacket, but for the sake of me, I can't seem to see the one you are wearing

Spent last week in Destin with kids and grandkids and managed to sneak the boys out for a little pier fishing off Okaloosa Island. Combined with fish we caught from a rented pontoon boat we caught 11 different species and I even recognized a few of them. My grandsons catch of 5 hard tails on one drop attracted a lot of attention as folks gathered around to watch Okie kids catch foreign fish. We start em out young in our family- Oak here is 18 months old and can crank the reel handle! Pretty sure when my boys fed this heron it didn't thrill the locals.
