The nice lady there let me chase the few stragglers left in the tank so after about 15 minutes with a minner net we had enuf Arkansas Jigs for the boys to fish with. Our first spot was too windy to fish so we headed up lake to a more sheltered spot, only to have my big motor crater just as we headed into a 20mph breeze. Couldn't fix it so we fished J Fabio Jones style with just a TM for the rest of the short day- and I gotta applaud that boys patience. If I didn't have 2 sons and 2 grandsons on board I would have been home in time for breakfast. Slow going with the wind and creeping slow against it. The fish were hiding out. Tho we did catch a few 1.25 lb BC and some trash species. Instead of riding the new tube I got for the occasion, the boys went swimming in the lake and didn't seem to notice that it was a hard day. Soon as I got home I put the Lund in the shop and 36 hours later had a new fuel pump etc installed and ready to get back out. It has run fine since but I may have a hard time convincing my youngest son to take a day off work to fish. Younger grandson was sure happy to see Miss Beazley when we got home and the older helped me pick these mushrooms, which were mighty good sautéed in butter with garlic cloves! Guess the day turned out ok.
