Thread: BELL COW LAKE

MikeG, welcome to Perkins!!! I have never been on Bell Cow or the old Chandler lake. I hear the smaller one holds some really good crappie. Just east of Perkins is a very nice baitshop called RC Bait and Tackle. Its at 33 and Fairgrounds rd on south side. Stop in and BS with Randy for a bit, he may be able to give you some good info on BC.

Bell cow is pretty good I just find some of the trees and tie off to them and drop a line I never really tried fishing it any other way because of the skiers and stuff . I also tie off and fish the draw down

Welcome. Bell Cow does have a decent Crappie population but don't go for Crappie. It contains pure strain Florida Bass, and has for probably 15 years. The current lake record is over 12 pounds. There are a good number of 3 to 6 pounders in there. Try a firetiger bomber model A or some black power worms.
My last Crappie trip (last year) produced "0" Crappie but 7 bass from 4 to 7.5 pounds and a bunch more 2 to 3 pounders. We were fishing 3' deep, early May, with Shiners.

Thanks I havent bass fished in several years.. That is all I did for years I fished BASS several years ago.. Just crappie fish now..Thanks for the info..

Our fisheries crew along with assistance from law enforcement placed cedar trees at Bell Cow and Chandler lakes last week for fishing habitat. A total of 42 trees were placed at Bell Cow and 22 trees were placed at Chandler Lake.
