I haven't fished it in a while. We did get minnows at the convience/bait shop in town a few weeks ago; good shiners. I cant remember the name of it tho.
Good size lake that is 3/4's timber. Last I recall here is a boating lane from main lake up north a ways. It is timber city, bigtime...

The bait shop is Brewer's Bait Barn, super nice people. I believe they recently changed to winter hours, closed Monday and Tuesday.

You are correct about the boating lane that runs north through the timber from the main lake. I would guess the timber to be a mile wide and three miles long. For sure a lot of timber.
Thanks IceNitro, Redge thanked you for this post

I've heard the lake has a lot of skinny water due to silting. Don't know but asking

If you are in the channel you will will find some 25’+ water. The rest of the main lake is typically 15’ or less. In the standing timber it is 10’ or less.
