Mill creek itself has some deep holes but not as many as you have mentioned. Another ramp that you can go to is at Oak Grove and it is a free launch ramp. Keep heading west instead of at the top of the hill and round the corner at the County barn until the next main road left "Oak Grove Rd Sign" Take a left go over the Culvert takeleft at the run down should be burnt down trailer house. keep hanging left through the curves and you will see the docks. To head up the creek hang a right after the docks past the two small limbs sticking out of the water. Head towards the Island ahead now. Keep in mind this is very shallow water and several stumps under water so go SLOW!!! Go around the east side of the island and continue heading south until the next open water. Go around the slight point and head back west AGIAN VERY SHALLOW. many boats have got caught up here. As you round the point and head west look ahead to the south and see a small opening to go through and enter there. Keep left when you exit that opening about 50 yds from bank and you will see a small opening ahead again with a log jam this is where you want to go. There is a Horseshoe that you can go through to the right of that opening when the water is up but we always go through the log jam area. once you go up to where the first Y is go left and there are tons of stumps and such water depth varies. Make sure you take your time there have been hundreds of lower units knocked off through this maze. The water clarity is much murkier than the rock and coal creeks which I like because you can doodlesock better the Sows will be shallower.

Dog... Gaines is a large area but when I go there I put in east of McAlester through Krebs. I don't know the directions well enough to explain it but I can drive there. Sorry... seems like it may be Juniper Point but I'm not sure. I'll look it up on my GPS and get back to you.

It's called Hickory point. Go straight through the middle of the town of Krebs east of McAlester. Keep heading east several miles until you come to a water plant on the left. Turn left to go to the ramp. Popular area though.

    Default Hello

Let me see if can clear this up for you? When crappie fisherman mention a creek they are usaully referring to the actuall creek. Where it narrows down, the banks are anywhere from 50 yds wide to 10 yds wide. Gaines creek starts at highway 9A and goes to Hartshorne OK. But it enters the lake under Highway 31 east of Krebs. This is the actual creek. Mill creek on the other hand is west of Eufaula on highway 9. when you launch at the Mill creek boat ramp you are still a mile of 2 from the actual creek itself. It is southest of the boat ramp and don't go under the bridge that is the south canadian river! If you decide to take your boat up there be very careful, stumpy stumpy stumpy! Hope this helps! EB
