I want to wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow in the Kaw tourney. Be safe! Catch a lot of pigs!
Good to see Tim and Darrell on Kaw today. Wind was too tough for me. I think I had a couple of light hits but not sure. Fish and shad seemed to be dormant suspended in the 23' and deeper range. Fished from 9:30 to 2:30. Skunked again. Don't mind donating to the winners but don't want to fight the wind. Partner not available either. Reckon I'm sitting out this one and going to take the grand daughters on Talala and hide below the Southern banks for a couple of hours. Good Luck to all!
Out Yesterday and Today. Dang the wind was horrible. Three dinks for both days, on minners. Fish seemed to be everywhere on the locators, but lock jaw was the norm.
I have to be in Tulsa in the morning for family things. Hope to be back for weigh in. Good luck to all.
Gonna start out by saying Darrell (dstreet) had a tough decision to make regarding this tournament whether to have it or cancel due to weather. Want to say these guys do a great job that most wouldn't do. Need to thank them whenever you get a chance. The weather really dictated where and how you fished. The biggest part of the lake was unfishable. I made the decision to anchor and use drop shots. That was a mistake on my part, which my fishing partner (my son) reminded me of several times during the day. We could not hold with 64 lbs of anchors. We managed 6 fish all day. I left my long poles at home, which I have had the best luck on all winter but didn't think there was any way to spider rig in that wind. Would it have made a difference I don't know with the conditions yesterday. Glad everybody got back safe and congrats to the few that went to the creeks. Again thanks Darrell for all your hard work.
Considering the weather for the day we had a great turnout for the Kaw tourney. 13 boats. The winning team caught their fish from up a n the creeks. Congrats to team Cassidy. Would like to give a big THANK YOU to Ken Roberson of Power Crappie Llc. Maker of Huckabee rods, Steve Holson of Redneck Rubber llc. Maker of Beaver Bottom Baits for always adding to our tourney prize pot, and John from the Jobi's One Stop here in Kaw City. Please stop for all your tackle and last minute needs when over this way.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...47192ec61a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...00c7df9b63.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...85a1636120.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...fd7825ba14.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2cf5e09cdc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...de0914ac23.jpg

Congratulations to you guys were able to catch fish in that wind. I do not envy the battle you all must have had out there. I had to work this weekend but probably wouldn't have been out in that wind had I not. Happy to see smiles despite the difficult conditions.

Darrell thanks for all the work you put into running this tournament. And the cookout the night before was fantastic. The duck poppers make me want to start duck hunting again.
Does this remind anybody of anything ?
Thanks Darrell for putting this together. We enjoyed it.
