Default Tulsa District COE Lake Levels App

TimY mentioned on the Kaw Lake report a FREE application for your phone that shows all the COE lakes in their district. It is USACE-Tulsa at the App Store. I just downloaded it and it works great! Thanks Tim!

Sounds like a nice app to have. I found it in the google play store and was going to D/L it, but it wanted access to way too many things in my phone, so I decided not to install. I wonder why it needs access to so many things just to give someone lake levels? It's not the first app I've rejected for this. I do a lot of things with my phone and PC and do my best to be wary of certain things. Call me paranoid.

Reaper it's got to be something in your phone settings because it has never asked me for anything. I've been using the app for years now never had an issue. I don't google it though I get it just searching the app store

Actually, Reaper is correct. I had also used the app for ages but recently got a new phone and had to reinstall it. It requires access to the devices identity, location, SMS, the devices photos, media and files, camera, and ID and call info. I went ahead and installed because I had never had any problems with it but I see no reason for access to all that. I didn't remember all that from before but it won't install or update without it. Most apps require similar access.

All I know is on my I phone I just got last week because my other phone is 20 ft deep in the lake, it didn't ask for none of that.

Craig, try downloading it and agree to the permissions. once its installed go to your settings tab on your phone and scroll until you find your Application Manager. Select it and find the USACE app and select it. Then you should see where it says Permissions, if so select it and it will allow you to turn off all or some of the permissions. I have all of mine turned off in the app and it still works fine. I am running a older android phone and I do this on almost all of my apps. Hope it helps.

I just installed it on my newer android phone and did the suggestion made by swollencrappie. When I went to turn off the first permission setting, I did get a message that said the app was designed for older android phones and turning off some permissions my cause the application to not run correctly. But after I turned all permissions off, I am able to run the application with no issues. Thanks for the heads-up about the app and also about how to change the settings after installation.
