The lake is 5 ft high right now from recent rains. Doesn't look too bad but is some muddy. Corps has not begun releasing yet to give some respite to downstream. I'm here for two weeks so, right now, just enjoying the camping. When I decide to go out I'll give some reports on water temp & conditions. They are talking wind advisories this afternoon so may just cook a steak, have a beer and enjoy the outdoors.

Anyone thinking of coming next week you really don't need reservations unless you want a RV site with sewer. There are all sorts of good tent sites available. A very close friend died a couple of hours ago so I'll be gone for a day or so for the services when they are scheduled.

An excellent end to my annual RV springtime trip to Pine Creek. Taking the boat home today to be there for a Memorial Service tomorrow. Be back for the trailer. From day one I targeted pre spawn fish and was pretty successful. The only day I didn't do well was when I spent the day on brushpiles. Yesterday I only caught 8 fish but 5 of the 8 were too big for me to keep. I usually only keep 10-13" fish and unless trying to stock the freezer I close the live well at 5 for the day. That's a meal for my wife and I with a filet or two left over. Yesterday I only got to keep 3. My two largest fish were 2.35 and 2.1 lbs. I was pushing BG strollers in 25' of water at the mouth of main lake coves. In the wind it was a lot of work but rewarding. I may come back in May for a tent trip on post spawn fish on wood. It was probably a little cool for those in tents at night. Now to concentrate on the deep clear water of Tenkiller.
