    Default FUTURE GEEZER CAMPS

    FUTURE GEEZER CAMPS
    Geezer Requirements:
    1. Primary Fishing Days: Tuesday - Thursday,
    2. Preferred Lake: Where the Crappie are biting most recently,
    3. Campgrounds: Water, electricity and toilets available,
    4. Organized activities: None
    5. Other Rules: There are no other Rules,
    6. Other requirements: None.

    Comments:
    1. Potential lakes: Broken Bow, Sardis, Wister, Kerr, Bell Cow ……Suggestions?
    2. Dates will be identified prior to knowing which lake the Geezers will camp on.
    3. Each lake will be monitored as much as possible during the year and the exact lake will be selected within the week the Geezer Camp is scheduled. A backup lake will also be selected. The backup lake will only be selected in case of potential adverse weather conditions or rapid lake level changes.
    4. We need help in identifying five or six lakes to keep up with.

I went to the Skiatook camp and was the youngest guy by a couple years. I'm curious about this post. What defines a geezer? What is geezer style camping, it says there are no other rules but can it really be true? I had a really good time at the spring camp and would like to go to any and all camps I'm able.

    Thanks,

    ~J. Babcock

Babw...when we originally talked of Geezer camps a couple years ago we called them that because many of the probies had a job to go to and couldn't make a camp during the week. Other than that, no rules. I'm in!

I have a lake to consider for the Geezer camps. It's Cedar Lake in SE Okla. Small lake with 7.5 or less outboards allowed (except to launch or load your boat) - big boats allowed using your trolling motors, It's a really nice little lake for camping with most facilities. There are Crappie in it but I don't know how large they are. It's the lake where the last two Oklahoma Largemouth records were caught so you wouldn't want to go early in the year. What's nice about it is it's just over a half hour to launch at Wister; less than an hour to launch at Sardis; and just about an hour to launch at Broken Bow. A smorgasbord of fishing lakes! It would be a great geezer lake. Very nice RV facilities but the tent area would be the nicest for a group of guys.https://www.recreation.gov/camping/c...O&parkId=70613

Being a Geezer is a state of mind and is not about age. Everyone is welcome at Geezer Camps. "Geezer Style Camping" is laid back with no prearranged meal functions, no responsibilities, no weekenders, no lake lice, no worries....just fishing and tellin' lies. Sometimes...beer is involved. Geezers remember the good old days (could be the forties, fifties or nineties) .... fishing was simple and camping was easy (that sounds like a country song). So, come join us at the next Geezer Camp and enjoy.... you too can become a Geezer...... Embrace it......
