As for the Saturday night fish fry, I'll bring taters, what else can I do to "coordinate"? I'd be glad to help.

Yeah, I should have taken a pic of it. It's just a professional fry cutter like this.

If you note it has mounting holes on the feet to mount it to a kitchen wall. He had someone weld a piece of metal with matching holes to a receiver hitch mount to mount it something like a bicycle rack does. Worked great. He had 20lbs of scrubbed taters sliced in about 2-3 minutes. Just put a meat lug under the slicer for them to fall into. Works for portable cookouts. When finished, take it out of the hitch and store it with the cooking stuff.
Marty is my wife's cousin - he did the fish fry. Still a bass fisherman instead of crappie. We had catfish. Marty Fourkiller, former BASS and FLW pro now mostly retired to raising cattle and enjoying life in the Tater Hills of Oklahoma.
Looks like we now have 14 people but I would hope it would be more like 22-25. I've been looking at this and here is what I think we will need to make a fish fry happen:
fish ( a bunch)
taters (covered by Babweiner +?)
slaw
hush puppies
beans (covered by shortdraw +?)
catsup and tartar sauce
maybe a large sheet cake (from SAM's or Walmart)
salt/pepper & breading (I'll cover this) (Also, I've got the hot dogs/brats/buns/mustard/onion covered for Friday evening.)
someone to:
clean fish
be cooks helper (bread and tote fish)
I think we have enough cookers and Dave has some oil but I think we need a couple of guys to bring a 3 gal jug of Lou Anna's Peanut oil each. We can save what we don't use for later.
We will see what you guys think and go from there (or cancel.)
Floyd
John and I have the been covered...we can do a cake if you want us too...we can probably help clean or cook fish if need to...just let me know
I will do the slaw dressing!
I'll bring ketchup and tarter along with the taters, I'm working on a way to mount my fry cutter now but would welcome another.

Count me in for all of the oil, Floyd or Dave do you know the best place to buy it?
Kirk, after thinking about it I think we could get by with a 3 gal jug and a 1 gal. Over the holidays Crest foods had the best price around, but Academy sometimes has a good price also.
Babw...I prefer gurls!
Can we use vegetable oil instead of peanut oil? Cooking for a group and using peanut oil could be a problem for folks that are or could be allergic to peanuts. I switched years ago and the fish and hush puppies taste great....
Cindy sending Cow Chip cookies if Dave doesn't hide them first!!
