When I said the bite was not on fire, I should have added it was still much better than the last two camps. When you set a date so far ahead you never know what the weather and bite will be, It's a cross your fingers thing. But you can always count on a great time with great people.
Would like to say thanks for a great time. Even tho the fishing was tough had a great time want to say Thank s to save and Darrell for a ll the work they put into it. Enjoyed meeting everyone and learning things ....looking forward to the next one. Ks raider...

Eighteen Campers attended the Spring Crappie Camp at beautiful Kaw Lake in North Central Oklahoma. We had several days of beautiful weather and several days of typical Oklahoma wind. The bite was light, however, there were plenty of fish caught for a great fish fry on Saturday evening with Dennis Hoddy cooking fish, Loy Morrison on Hush Puppies and Bill Kneeland on French fries. There was more food than we could eat, so FORTGIBSONBOY invited six young motorcycle riders that camped next to us to join us for dinner. The Kansas Raiders, shortdraw and John, fit right in with the Okies and we were also joined by campers Keith an Steve from Wichita. Cindy Perkins, the better half of Hat55, sent a large box of her famous cookies along with a large home made apple pie. Needless to say the cookies and pie didn't last long. Thanks again to dsteet and his wife Sheryl for their hospitality and advice on fishing on Kaw Lake. A special thanks to TimY for showing me a great fishing spot and giving us minnows when we ran out. Attached are more photos of the Camp and remember the Summer Family Camp is on the first weekend in June, the 3rd -5th. More details to follow.
