I know I'm new here but I would be down to at least drive in on Saturday and drive back the same day. I have college stuff so I can't make all 3 days but I'd love to make at least one day. Question, are you all bank fishing or using boats for this camp and can members that don't own a boat attend?
Welcome, Sp00n!:welcome
There will be plenty of boats at any of the camps. Come on down and join us.
Sp00n...looking forward to meeting you on Saturday at the Camp....dave
Welcome Sp00n! Looking forward to meeting you
We are kicking around a Ft Gibson Challenge for the Saturday of the Fall Camp at Rocky Point. Any discussion on this. Either way I think it's probably a go.......Ranger
It's going to be challenge just getting on the water without forgetting something! lol
I'll be there to just fish for fun, no challenge for me.
Gettin there is enough of a challenge for me!!!
The group of people that have met to organize the crappie camps have discussed this some when we have gotten together. We really prefer to keep the tournament fishing trail separate from the camps. We hope to keep the camps as a fun type get-together and avoid the competition. We might throw $$ in the pot for a big-fish day, if people want to but might not. We don't want to alienate the people that are into the tournament trail and we may even fish some of them. We just would like to have separate events. There are a number of people on the Oklahoma board that only appear interested in tournaments. We would like the tournament fishermen to come to the camp for the 'fun days' but leave the competition at home. What we want to discourage is the folks that have no interest in the camp from showing up on a camp day to participate in a tournament as part of the camp. So, we discourage associating the tourneys with the camp. If several people at the camp want to fish in a tournament on a camp day we would prefer that they do it on their own and disassociate it from the crappie camps.
We don't want to cause friction between the two groups, especially since some might enjoy being part of each activity. The camp folks have been wondering when the tournament schedule for next year is gonna come out. At first we waited to make certain there was no date conflicts but when the tourney schedule didn't appear we decided to go ahead and schedule our camps. There is plenty of room during the year for both types of these activities.
Again, don't want to cause any hard feelings - that's just our thoughts on the matter.
