Haven't been on Oologah in weeks, and based on the activity on this forum, I guess nobody else has. Anybody have any sort of report?

Does anyone know if the ramp by the dam is open? After the high water?

Took fam yesterday. Lake still up ~9'. Redbud open, Hawthorn open, was told Spencer open and Blue closed by Corp office but didn't confirm. Hit lots of brush that was much deeper than usual, could only pull a couple off each spot and the boys were starting to doubt. So...I had set up a T bar rod holder last weekend thinking I'd try spider rigging with just 4 rods until I got the hang of it and this was my chance. Man o man! We didn't slay em but picked up some keepers and had lots of fun trying a new technique. The boys were bird dogging the rods after their initial skepticism wore off!! Tried to parallel the creek channel edges in ~15 fow fishing 8-12' down. Never really noticed a pattern but picked up fish pretty consistently.

Good looking catch, slayer. And getting kids into the fish is always good.

So I got to get out today. Fished from 2 - 6 today. Had 17 keepers. Caught a lot of little ones. Pretty average day. Summer patterns are starting to produce. Had to fish around 15 piles to catch what I did today. But it was a beautiful day out on the water today.

Got to fish over the weekend. Fought wind both days. Struggled to find keepers. Also caught way more shorts than usual on piles. Got the long rods back out and found some fish in 12-14' decently concentrated over about 100 yd stretch of sheltered creek channel break, trolled/drifted back and forth in this area and found some consistency on keepers.

Got a chance to go Saturday with my buddy Dudley. Fished half a day and had 52 that we kept. First time either of us had been on the lake since the water had come up from all the rain. Caught em all on jigs. Sure was nice to have the lake back down to close to normal again.

Fished Monday again with my buddy Dudley since we had the day off for the holiday. Thought we'd try it again and see if we could find em hungry again. We got lucky and had a another good day. We quit with what we thought was a 2 man limit of 74. Got home and counted 73... guess we lost count. Caught all of them on jigs again. Didn't really matter what color, they were just hungry. Had several doubles with both of us fishing with 2 jigs. Lost some really good fish too, as usual. We had a really fun day.
