Fished with guide Tony Coatney on Friday. He put a friend and me on lots of crappie in south lake , clear water coves. Kept 45 but caught 60+. No giants but a real fun day.

Caught a little more than a dozen yesterday up Elk River at about 5ft in 15 FOW. Nothing big by any means but they all taste the same. Just haven't been finding them on the shore up there like last year.

Got to do some night fishing Sat. night with my bro-in-law and another friend. Fished main lake docks. Fish suspended 6' to 15' over 30' to 50' dow. Color didn't seem to matter. They liked cast and drag better than vertical presentation. Cleaned 40 crappie and also caught a ton of hybrids that we put back. Was a great night with cool temps and light wind.

Officially Jealous! Our lakes are so screwed up right now its not worth going out. Always said I'd like to retire on Grand Lake because they keep the water levels some what constant, so here I am retired and still fishing the mud hole flood control lakes.
