Guy's sorry for falling behind on the Wister posts as it has been pretty tough from the high water for most of the fall and part of the winter but I have been able to cathchum through it all even though at times it wasn't easy. I did get out for a couple hours yesterday and the bite was very good kasten draggen piles in 7-9 fow with the new WSD kasten draggen jighead from timmytomjigcompany and bait and color of choice was a white and silver mikes bait and white and chartreuse bonehead slim stick big fish was only in the 1.70's. I'm freinds with a lot of you guys on Facebook and you know I usually post daily or weekly about Wister for the others feel free to send me a friend request Robert Robinson. Here are a few pictures from the past few months 2016. WSD Name: image.jpg

Man... I almost hate to post this after those pics from WSD but in my defense this is from just one day. I went tues this past week. Glad I got in there b4 all the rains. Looks like it is going to be blown out for a while. I used franks plastic and TT weedless jigs. Also used minnows shallow on a cork to pick up some of the last spawners. I used a slip cork and minnows in some deeper stuff also, there were a few places they weren't biting jigs well but they would take a minnow quick. I dont know how many fish I caught, I wasn't keeping, but it was a bunch. No super big fish, I was late to the party. Most the spawn was over. Name: 20160426_111605.jpg

Best ramp at Wister so I don't have to go too far to find a fish or two? Thinking about fishing it for the first time.

Size: 25.8 KBLong day. Up at 3 am. went down at 11 pm. Worth it. The fishing started slow, strong north wind limiting what could be fished. Started the day dead sticking jigs and using minnows on slip bobbers in brush. Fish didnt really want to hit jigs, so finally switched my jigs out for a minnow rig on my meat draggas. I was tired of fishing slips and I wanted to feel the thump. Turned out to be extremely effective. I was working those minnows through the brush and then later in the day through the stump roots. I used a 1/4 ounce bell sinker 9 inches below a single hook tied on with a loop knot. The piles didn't hold many big fish and they weren't hitting jigs well but you could catch a bunch of small and medium sized fish using minnows. When the wind dropped out at 6 pm or so was able to hit the channel edge stumps and killed the the bigger fish. Exact opposite of the brush. Instead of 15 to 1 small to big ratio, it was one big one after another with only a few small fish. Never went back to jigs, they were really light in the bite and I was doing so well with the minnows. Didnt keep so I dont know how many, but it was lots!

You're killing it Chris! Good job. You're going to know Wister better than most of us by the time the Classic comes around.

Well headed south this morning to try Wister out. It didn't go to well. Little storm ran us off the lake about 9 this morning. Loaded the boat and waited it out. Back on the water around 10, then we had to deal with a strong south wind until about 2 this afternoon then it went dead calm. Only managed 6 good fish off of 2 piles in 7-8 fow. Never could find any cover except for the 2. I am just about to give up on this Lowrance. I'm having a hard time finding anything with it. Thanks to EB for the call and trying to help us out, but we just couldn't find anything where he directed us to.

I guess I'll just sneak into Fishers or Wister Slab Daddy's boat one of these days. Either that or someone who knows how to use a Lowrance give me a good class on it.

Sorry no pictures, don't have one of those fancy phones and can't post on here with it. Forgot to take the small digital camera with me. All fish returned to water.
