Couldn't go today, but Thursday afternoon should be better anyway with the sun warming the water.
Went out last night, had 20 males from .5 to 1.25 in a ft of water, on a jig and bobber, wt was 62, and murky. Basically the same report as Tim. couple days of sunshine and It will be on fire, trouble is I don't think the sunshine is whats in store for us, Hopefully the weather men are wrong again.
My truck is in the shop and I can't get out. [emoji91]
Caught around 40 today kept 30.Biggest fish was 2lb 2 oz
Nice! Planning on taking the kids out Sat morning before the rain gets going. You catching them shallow or not?
Dennis, we'll have plenty of room in the Ranger if you want to go.
Thanks! I'm hoping to get it back tomorrow. If not, I'll let you know.
Caught them shallow. Morning bite is slow right now but picks up in the afternoon as the water warms up. Had 4 fish by noon and started around 7:00 am. Bite picked up after 1:00 pm. Water temp is dropping down into the 50's at night. Don't overlook the rip rap.
Got into some bigger fish today. Fished under a cork at 1 ft with jigs tipped with minnows.
Got my truck back this morning, so hooked up the boat and to Kaw I went. Thought I'd try down into the main lake and see what was happening there.
Pretty much the same story as Tim and DStreet reported. Crappie in 1FOW. Water temp 68 degrees.
I tried jigs under a bobber, marabou, flukes, and a couple of other styles, and couldn't buy a bite. Went to minners on a white jig head, and started picking up fish. Broke off, put on a red jig head, and couldn't buy a bite.
Went back to white, and started catching again.
Only got out for three hours, but boated about 15, some females. Released the females, and kept 6 of the biggest males.
I think its time to replace the trolling motor battery. Shortdraw and I fished a week or so ago and it failed about mid day, but it was really windy and thought maybe it was on the trolling motor too much, but it wasn't that bad today until late afternoon when the wind came up. New battery coming.
Any word on what the rain did to the lake?
