yes it is due to Grand dumping all their water cause all those high pollutin people cant get their green grass covered with water you know..gee wish they would make everything equal when it comes to high water levels..oh well it has already been a pretty good spring as far as enjoying my time on the water and catching CRAPPIE..and have the summer bite to look forward to..On Gibson those blacks get right back into the spawning brushpiles in sjhallow water when the temps get so hot you cant stay longer than noon from the heat..but you dont need to since you can get a limit long before that..

Had a limit of 15 today fishing the 14 mile creek area. Not all brushpiles holding fish but caught them pretty good. Unlaoded at Seq. Bay at 8:05 and had my limit at 10:40..had 1 big female weighing 2.03 lb white crappie and out of the 15, 4 were white and 11 black species and they sure were beautiful in their speckled suits. fished until 3pm and caught 29 total keeper crappie, and about that many throwbacks. wish I had of had that fish Saturday at Eufaula, but that was a different lake and time..Most females still had some eggs but had somewhat spawned out. Colors were blk/chart super tubes and Slab Bandits in blue bayou shad color...tip here..if you hadnt tried the slab bandits we got from the CDC meeting your missing out on a really good bait..I have ordered 10 packages of them and have caught fish on all colors I ordered..the scent works

Caught my first crappie at 8:11 in Jackson Bay area, decided I wasn't going to keep anything under 12" today..Had 14 12" crappie or better at 11:40 when my wife called and said I needed to take her to the Dr. and we needed to be in Tulsa at 2pm..well I didnt get my 15 and threw the 14 back and rushed to meet her to drive her to Tulsa. water Temps were 66.8 when I started and at 11:30 had warmed to 68.2 and was climbing. All brushpiles were not holding fish and it didnt take but a second to tell if you were on 1 that did..Colors of choice today were blk/chart super tube and Blue/Pearl Slab Bandit..the Males were dressed in their suits and caught a few females busting with eggs..had alot of throwbacks also//when I threw them back I had 8 White Species Crappie and 6 Black Species Crappie and those blacks sure were beautiful.

Catching most of the crappie from brushpiles, but also caught a few casting cork and jig on pea gravel banks known to being used as spawning beds. Brushpiles in the 8' to 14' range worked best for me. Also caught quite a few black species crappie in known rock piles also used as spawning beds. Not saying you will not catch both white and black crappie in the same location which you will but the big blacks really like rock piles when spawning. 14 Mile Creek is the arm running on the east side of the Lodge going up to Wildwood Camping grounds.. Hope this helps.
