Hey bassky.
East Fork still has the 9" min length and 30 limit. I fish lakes in NE Ohio that had the limits imposed in 2009 I believe, and size went waaaay down. The limit was removed in 2018/2019 and the crappie fishery has been on the upswing again. A lot of people whine that more limits and min lengths are needed on their lakes but in many cases the limits have the opposite of the intended effect.
Bassky thanked you for this post
I wish they would remove the limit, I believe size would increase. To address Bassky's comments, I suspect you are fishing way too deep. The last few weeks has been a very shallow bite (around 2-4'). It's no problem to go out now and catch 100+ blacks in a couple hours. Most will be around 9'', but a fair number around 11''.

Here is a decent bag that came out of EF Spring of 2023. Haven’’t fished EF this year. There are some good fish in that lake.
