This was posted on the CJ Brown Facebook page but I thought it should be here as well... It's from Terry Goings whom I assume is with the Corps of Engineers. Be careful out there!

Some may have noticed the low outflow level from the dam in the last two weeks. This was due to some maintenance work to some of the metal surfaces in the gate chambers in the control tower. We did similar work in the winter of 2008-2009, and a few places just needed some touching up.
Because of the lower outflow, the lake has risen about a foot and a half from winter pool level. We have increased the flow today to 137 cubic feet per second, which will allow the level to begin dropping. This flow may be increased again in the next few days.
With the colder weather, ice has formed over about 80% of the lake.
We wanted to make everyone aware that the lake level will be decreasing by over a foot in the next week or so- especially any of the intrepid folks that like to ice fish. This will create the probability that areas of ice could have an air-void form underneath them as the lake level drops. Please be very cautious and stay off of any ice until things are able to stabilize!
