Got the boat out for the first time this year last Saturday. My wife and I took it out to Salt Fork and gave the crappie fishing a try. I had never fished Salt Fork before but its a much easier haul than going to Tappen. Got a late start and got on the lake about noon and fished til about 4. We kept it real simple fishing a minnow under a float about 2' deep. We hit a number of shore line brush piles and got a few crappie and a nice sized bluegill, only got 1 keeper and it was released. We had lots of hit, but they were biting really lightly. Water was in the upper 40's.
