It's a few years newer, but I have a 2007 225. It's been ok. Had to fix a few things--computer chip, gasket leak, etc. I maintain it faithfully, every year, and you need to stay on top of the impeller, they usually only last about 2 years. Had to do over, I think I'd prefer a Yamaha.

I've got a 96 skeeter with a 200 HP EFI Black max on it. It on a 19' boat and will run about 65 with a 4 blade prop. I fish year around here in Kansas and have never had any issues with it starting or running. They are a dependable good running motor. Make sure you do a compression check on any motor you buy and that all cylinders are within a few PSI of each other. Mine running about 128 PSI on each cylinder. I had my oil injection unhooked and premix it just to be safe and know it getting the oil it should.
