    Default Lake Erie Walleye

Does anyone know how the walleye fishing is this summer at Lake Erie? Heading up there this weekend for a baseball tournament and would like to fish a day or 2.

I saw some walleye reports on the Michigan board awhile back

I was up there last week end visiting family and talked to a couple guys fishing off the rocks in Lorain, and they said the charter guys were catching limits of fish often. My brother had been catching walleye right off the rocks in Lorain at one mile pier. Good luck sounds like it got hot up there.

Went up to Conneaut Ohio this morning with a friend in my boat. Put two limits of walleyes in the cooler in less than two hours, trolling spoons behind dipsys. Only about a mile off shore too.

Looks like many are getting a good mess of fish and walleye cheeks.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

The cheeks aren’t very big on most. The average size was seventeen inches. They may be bigger fish out in the deeper water.

Just got back from a week fishing out of port Clinton, and then Sandusky. Limited out every trip, mostly casting weight forwards with a crawler. But only because that's how I like to catch them. Just about all methods were working. Even saw a guy catch two real good fish off the Huron Pier.

Been going up every day for the last week and getting our two man limits. It’s only a little over an hour drive for me so I make it daily. Same program is working every day with a few very minor tweaks if the fish are up higher that day. Using fresh leaders every other trip to make sure they’re good and strong. Number one dipsy set at sixty and number three set at ninety. Copper back spoons are getting the job done. The fish are only a couple miles out so I’m gonna keep getting them as long as they stay that close.

I wish I was that close, it would be hard to stay away. I'd move up that way if I didn't hate snow so much.
