It was sort of a spur of the moment decision to go. I took my 83 year old uncle down for the day. We definitely didn't have any trouble catching fish just catching keeper size. Easily caught 150 plus & ended up with 8 keepers. We launched at the Reisinger ramp & fished that end for a couple of hours then tried what we have called the river and fished the cove by the Bantam ramp. Basically we tried all over the lake. Fished minnows under slip bobber for most of the morning & finally switched to throwing/dipping jigs & roadrunners. Didn't seem to matter what you threw they would hit it. Started off early fishing the banks but switched to the deeper ends of laydowns as the day went on. Sure is a lot of fish there that's for sure. It was something different for us as we almost always fish the Ohio river tribs.

I fished for a few hours the other night, had about the same results.

Thanks guys. I pretty much fish the OH River tribs these days too but have some nephews who want to go out this summer and I know we can troll with minnow rigs at EF and catch them until are arms are ready to fall off, which is great for kids. But the size of crappie, in a lake that size, is pretty frustrating. It was definitely better at one time, though never great, so I'm hoping they are getting bigger. I assume there's plenty of bait fish there still, but maybe that's an issue why the average size is still down.

Just “semi- retired” looking to fish more in South / Central Oh - live in Cincinnati— any help in places to go appreciated— also if I can tag along ( have boat) would be great — I release 99% of Crappie so not going to ruin your spots thx Jeff 513-313-2042
