So, me being in a Great Mood, decided to help them lower their live bait bill during the spawn time pattern...so I cut a strip of white plastic from a coffee cup lid and a larger strip from a sandwich bag and put them on my jig...and I out caught both of them, pissed them off, and then even returned their Favorite eating small fish, that I was catching, into to the lake!
They became agitated because I didn't give them the fish....and I proceeded to tell them the story of "teaching a man to fish"!
I left for a more peaceful environment and later took home my 30 over 12", with a 16 kicker! Caught over 100 in less than 3 hours...my clicker died after hour 2 at 98 fish!
    Wow, hahahaha

Out today from about 1pm till a little after 3 as the wife had her own plans so I did as well. Water temp 82( east of campground) to 77 outside of marina with wind blowing a chop to almost white cap on the water. Six crappie with two over 11in one 9 1/2 and three under 9 that were sent to grow up for next year. All were caught bouncing red/orange jig head with a 3in #Kietech on the bottom going .5 to .7mph in water that transition from 9-12 feet with structure around.

Out this morning from 7:15 till noon and took my neighbor and had a not to bad day. My neighbor landed one keeper crappie, lost three more , as well as put three dinks back in cj as well as landed two 10 inch walleye that went to in grow up. I was able to land seven keeper crappie, last two more and sent three dinks back in to grow up as well as a nice cat that gave my a thrill on my 10ft crappie pole. Water as 71-72.5 deg and looks a lot clearer than Indian as My wife and I tried it yesterday to no avail.

The Central Ohio Crappie Circuit next tournament will be at C.J. Brown on Sat July 14. I would like to invite all you local guys and gals to join us. We have been averaging 25 boat per tournament. If you want to fish a COCC tournament you will be required to be a member. Membership fee is $40.00
You can fish the tournament either by yourself or with a partner. If you are only planning to fish only one tournament with a partner it would make sense for one person to join and pay the $40.00 membership fee and the partner to fish as a substitute. There is a $20.00 fee to fish as a substitute. If the substitute ends up fishing another tournament there would be another $20.00 fee and at that point the substitute would become a full member.

There is a $30.00 entry fee for each person fishing the tournament. There are also optional side pots for big crappie $10.00 and for big non-crappie $5.00.
Below is an example of what it would cost a first time team to fish a tournament.
    $40.00 membership fee X 2 people $80.00
    $30 tournament fee X 2 people $60.00
$10.00 Big Crappie per boat $10.00
    $5.00 Big Non-crappie per boat $5.00
    Total $155.00
Below is an example of what it would cost a first time team to fish a tournament with one person being a sub.
    $40.00 membership fee for one
person and $20.00 sub fee $60.00
    $30 tournament fee X 2 people $60.00
$10.00 Big Crappie per boat $10.00
    $5.00 Big Non-crappie per boat $5.00
    Total $135.00
Go to this link for more info COCC Fishing Tournaments

I'd be happy to answer any questions.

I've never been down to CJ Brown (live in Delaware), and was wondering if anyone had any tips for catching crappie right now (heard the water temp. has really come up). I'm going to go down tomorrow (Sunday the 8th) and was going to chase the crappie, in hopes of figuring out what I'll need to try and do for our tournament there next weekend (Saturday the 14th)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
    thanks and tight lines
