Crappie Tournament on Delaware Lake May 20th
Ohio Game Fishing will be running a crappie tournament May 20th on Delaware Lake, this is a single rod tournament and we should hit the spawn pretty good. There are 2 divisions, Upper and Lower, Upper division is $60/team and Lower is $30. Come out fish with a great group of guys. Always a great time. Truthfully it all depends on the year and the lake. We usually get 20-30 boats in the tournament all together. Last year was the 1st time for the 2 divisions, we are doing this has a trial and error type thing to get more of the novice crappie fisherman to experience tournament fishing but having a lot of fun doing so. Last error we had 14 boats in the Upper division and payout was 1st - $435 2nd - $240 and lower division we had 15 boats in it with payout of 1st - $145, 2nd - $105, 3rd - $70, 4th - $40
I am hoping to get more teams this year, but you never know I guess. The weather always plays a role in how many boats we get. In the earlier events we would get 50-60 boats and we are trying to get that number back up there.
