Blacknose are reportedly found to be naturally occurring in 13 states ... and have been used for stock fish in many other states, due to the ease of identifying them from the resident population.

I've caught them in KY & TN, from lakes where they've been stocked. 13-14" is the largest size Blacknose that I've caught, and those all came from Watts Bar Reservoir in East Tenn.

It's also been reported that floods have dispersed many of them from stocked lakes, fish farms, and their natural waters ... so it's no surprise that they can be found in bodies of water connected to the major riverways.
